At 08:00 PM
A new soul, funk, and groove live jukebox from the capital’s classiest vocal talents – featuring acclaimed lead singers from UK’s top bands and TV including Vanessa Haynes (Incognito), Mary Pearce (Primal Scream), Tommy Blaize (the fantastic voice behind those Strictly Come Dancing covers) backed by an all-star Singer’s Room house band led by former Van Morrison, Incognito, Joe Cocker drummer Geoff Dunn.
The Singer’s Room also introduces the pick of the most exciting new performers emerging on the scene, with one they’re all talking about – the fabulous Joanna Harman – lined up for an early headlining slot. London’s great singers explore the Soul America Songbook. Featuring some of the finest musicians from the soul, jazz and funk genres working in UK today - this is not a jam !! Sunday nights – monthly.
Just confirmed that Yolanda Charles will be playing bass for Mary Pearce.
Yolanda is probably most well-known for being Robbie Williams' bass player but also (all over YouTube) Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Paul Weller, Gabrielle, Alison Moyet, KD Lang, BB King et al.
Acclaimed Primal Scream vocalist teams up with City Funk Orchestra at the Half Moon once again alongside her favourite collaborator on vocals, Imaani..
Expect the classiest of soul and funk workouts from them both (with a big nod to the music of Maze and Frankie Beverley from Mary Pearce - a speciality !)
Mary has worked with Michael Jackson, Grace Jones, Prince, Courtney Pine, the Streets and many more of the world’s top artists.
Her West End debut was in The Original Blues Brothers and she’s brought her amazing range and fabulous warm tone to appearances on Later with Jools Holland as well as Top of the Pops. House Music fans know her vocals from many dance/club classics. Her memorable lead on Ready For The Weekend with Calvin Harris remains a clubbers’ Friday night favourite.
Live/touring performances include names such as Chaka Khan, Beverly Knight, Culture Club, Donna Summer, Roy Ayers and Shola Ama.
One of UK’s finest singers and a simply sensational performer – and a South London girl born and bred and an idol amongst City Funk Orchestra fans since her very first appearance at the Half Moon!
