All ages welcome
Ducks Deluxe celebrated their 40th Anniversary in 2012. One of the first pub rock bands, the Ducks played basic American-style blues and boogie with remarkable panache and thorough disregard for convention. They were hugely popular, revered by both press and peers alike and hugely successful throughout the UK and Europe. Their two bestselling RCA albums, ‘Ducks Deluxe’ and the Dave Edmunds produced, ‘Taxi To The Terminal Zone’ are considered classics of their time. They had a heavy influence on the English punk scene that was right around the corner before their members went on to found other prominent bands like Graham Parker & the Rumour, the Motors and the Tyla Gang.
In October 2007, the Ducks reformed. As off 2012. the new line-up features co- founders, Sean Tyla and Martin Belmont, Brinsley Schwarz on guitar, bass maestro Kevin Foster, (ex-Doll By Doll, Jackie Leven) and drumming legend, Jim Russell, (ex-Wild Angels, Inmates, Scotty Moore Trio).
The Ducks also returned to the studio early in 2009 and produced the mini CD, ?Box Of Shorts?, their first studio recording in thirty-four years. It was released worldwide on May 18th 2009. In 2010, the band released ?Smokers & Side Tracks?, a compilation of rare studio and radio recordings. The Ducks have toured widely in the UK, Spain, Monaco, France and Sweden since their reformation and completed their 40th Anniversary campaign in August 2012. They recorded their 40th Anniversary celebration concert in London for Mystic Records which they will tour the UK & Europe in support of in 2013.
