D’Ukes return to the Half Moon for an evening of fun and a few surprises! D'Ukes
are a diverse group of enthusiastic ukulele players whose interests cover the
complete musical spectrum. The band's music is an eclectic mix from artistes
as diverse as Amy Winehouse, Deep Purple, Johnny Cash, Radiohead and the
Beach Boys. The eight members all strum ukuleles and if they're not singing they
are playing percussion, performing intricate uke solos or thundering along on bass
Since forming in 2009, D'Ukes have played venues all around London and the south of England, performed on BBC radio and established their own annual ukulele festival, D'Ukulele! In the last year the band has ventured out of the UK into Europe for a brief tour of the Czech Republic in and around Prague, performed at live events around the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations and the London Olympics and made a TV appearance on ‘Big Brother’.
