We are very happy to be hosting this year's official Isle Of Wight Festival Unsigned Competition Final.
The iconic Festival is giving not one, but six lucky unsigned artists from the UK & Ireland the chance to perform at this year’s event on the following stages; Main Stage, Big Top, The Bandstand, Life’s A Beach, Cabaret Club and The Hipshaker Lounge.
There has been over 1500 entries in this competition but only 12 will go through to play in the final, hosted here at The Half Moon.
Cable Street Collective
Cable Street Collective are an upbeat party band, making rhythm-driven, African-influenced sunshine music, using an eclectic range of instruments. Their music draws on African influences as well as sounds from closer to home such as Primal Scream and the Stone Roses.
Nicola Brown
Nicola Brown is a fresh and exciting folk/alternative singer/songwriter from a small town in the South-West of England. She has sang and played guitar all her life, taking influence from the likes of Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Jonsi and Jake Bug.
Tank Trap
Tank Trap are an old-school grungy rock band, with a bluesy feel, catchy riffs and smashing beats hailing from Gravesend, influenced by rock legends such as Led Zeppelin, Black Stone Cherry, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.
Louise Golbey
Louise Golbey is an aspiring singer, songwriter and musician and a regular on the London jazz and soul circuit. The songstress brings soulful classics to the modern arena with a unique musical style mixing contemporary soul with jazz.
Castelle
The Southampton based act formed less than a year ago from the ashes of a previous endeavour. They have a quirky style and unquestionable musicianship, influenced by their idols No Doubt and Blondie.
Crystal Seagulls
Crystal Seagulls are a young four-piece indie rock band whose music holds a mixture of the infectious sounds of the Sixties, the swagger of the Nineties whilst simultaneously paving the way for a whole new style of music.
The Bar Staff
A coalition of five talented musicians from Portsmouth with diverse, unique styles brought together by a mutual love of music and a common goal to highlight the ever-growing quality of hip-hop in the UK.
CHIDI
Borrowing from the rich traditions of classic Soul music and blending a fusion of Rock Pop and Jazz, with passionate vocals and a rich velvet tone, CHIDI comprising a talent that has many classy influences, such as Jean Carne, Adriana Evans, Sunshine Anderson and Tina Turner.
Emmy J Mac
Band Genre: Electronic
Emmy J Mac has a unique soulful vocal style, which pulls at the heart, whilst the production of her music bring contemporary beats worthy of your best bass face with influences from dub, electronic and dance influences.
LiA - Life Imitates Art
LiA (Life Imitates Art) are a fiery electro-rave group who fuse rock, dnb and electro, featuring an international line-up of artists from varied backgrounds. Their danceable music often belies the melancholic subject matter of their tracks.
Beck Lanehart
Camden based licensed London Underground busker, Beck Lanehart is influenced by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Teddy Thompson, Sarah Machlachlan and Ben Harper. She plays acoustic songs from the heart with articulate lyrics and beautiful guitar rifts.
XOVA
XOVA are an Indie Rock-Reggae band from Birmingham, with a vibrant roots sound, fusing their reggae base with the breadth of the modern world – ska, rock, dubstep, blues, Motown and folk, infused with protest and pain, but also hope.
