West Of The Sun met at a small festival in Derbyshire where front men Luke Ward and Joe Stratton attempted to out-perform each other singing songs around a campfire. A few weeks later they both packed up their lives in the north to move down to the big smoke, where they joined good friends Michael, Kieran and Stevie in a small flat in Kentish Town. While living practically on top of each other for the next year, the boys practiced new material to an audience by opening their kitchen window and playing as loud as possible to a busy Queens Crescent market below.
Having formed in 2013, the band have self-released 2 EP’s ‘Fountains Of Fire’ and ‘Scatterbrains’, and now are in the process of recording and producing their debut full LP (11 tracks including 3 singles), set for release this year. To this point, the has played support slots with bands such as The Merrylees, Detroit Social Club, Twisted Wheel, CUT and Kassassin Street, played headline shows at venues such as 100 Club, Bush Hall, Queen Of Hoxton, Dingwalls and The Sebright Arms and worked with promoters such as This Feeling, Good Vibrations, HotVox and Jubilee.
