If you love live music, chances are you’ve heard of us! We are the Half Moon, a much-loved Putney pub and iconic music venue since the 1960s. With greatest hits including U2’s first sellout UK gig, KD Lang’s first UK appearance and Kate Bush’s first public show, we’re proud to be a part of Putney history.
Set in the heart of Putney, just by Putney Bridge and the Thames, our stage is open to artists every night of the week, with our regular New Moon Monday showcasing the best of up-and-coming acts from around the globe.
Whether you’re joining us for a pre-gig bite or getting the pals together for a laid-back dinner, you’re sure to find your new favourite dish on our Americana-inspired menu. Planning a party? Check out our private space upstairs, perfect for any occasion from big birthday bashes to corporate meetings.
We always love meeting new people, so don’t be shy – pop in and say hi to Andy and the team today.
Since 1963, we’ve been at the heart of London’s live music scene (we look incredible for our age, we know). From homegrown British talent to American blues legends, we’ve hosted an extraordinary mix of artists and genres over the years. We’ve seen legends including Kate Bush, The Who, Van Morrison and Elvis Costello grace our stage, with some newer artists starting out in our venue too (Lola Young, Cat Burns, and some fella called Ed Sheeran – heard of him?).
Today, The Half Moon remains one of the best live music venues in London, hosting gigs in Putney seven days a week. And that’s not all: we host regular comedy nights too, with previous alumni including Jack Whitehall and Harry Hill. You’ll never be bored, that’s for sure…
With a show on every night of the week, you’re spoilt for choice – check out what’s on and book your tickets below.
We can’t wait to spend our first Christmas in our gorgeous new pub! From festive parties in our beautiful roof terrace (with a perfect view of Putney’s Christmas lights) to dining in style in the main bar (not to mention a few celebratory shots along the way…), we’ve got everything you need to make this festive season one to remember.
Whether you’re joining us for a gig or simply fancy some top-notch classic pub grub, you’ll find your new favourite meal on our carefully crafted spring menu. Prepped to perfection using the finest seasonal ingredients, our chefs make sure that we can be proud of every dish that leaves our kitchen.
End the week in style with one of our world-class Sunday roasts: your choice of tender roast meat (or a tasty veggie alternative) accompanied by crispy-yet-fluffy roast potatoes, enormous double-egg Yorkshire puds and fabulously fresh greens, all topped with our trademark rich gravy. It’s better than your gran’s, we reckon… (don’t tell her we said that).
We’re your number one spot to party in Putney. From post-work drinks by the bar to full-on events in our terrace bar upstairs, we’ve got a space for all occasions – just chat to our team to find out how we can accommodate you.
When we’re not listening to music, you can bet we’re talking about it! Check out our blog for interviews with upcoming artists, sneak peeks into what’s coming up, and updates from our General Manager Andy.
What’s party season without a cocktail? From a smoky Old Fashioned to a festive Fig Negroni, you’ll find something you love on our brand new menu.
You can count on us to show every heart-stopping second of this year’s Autumn Nations, live from our big screens throughout the pub. Settle in with a pint and get ready to cheer as it all kicks off this November. We’ll save you a seat…
