If you love live music, chances are you’ve heard of us! We are the Half Moon, a much-loved Putney pub and iconic music venue since the 1960s. With greatest hits including U2’s first sellout UK gig, KD Lang’s first UK appearance and Kate Bush’s first public show, we’re proud to be a part of Putney history.
Set in the heart of Putney, just by Putney Bridge and the Thames, our stage is open to artists every night of the week, with our regular New Moon Monday showcasing the best of up-and-coming acts from around the globe.
Whether you’re joining us for a pre-gig bite or getting the pals together for a laid-back dinner, you’re sure to find your new favourite dish on our Americana-inspired menu. Planning a party? A Legendary Live Music Venue in Putney
Since 1963, we’ve been at the heart of London’s live music scene (we look incredible for our age, we know). From homegrown British talent to American blues legends, we’ve hosted an extraordinary mix of artists and genres over the years. We’ve seen legends including Kate Bush, The Who, Van Morrison and Elvis Costello grace our stage, with some newer artists starting out in our venue too (Lola Young, Cat Burns, and some fella called Ed Sheeran – heard of him?).
Today, The Half Moon remains one of the best live music venues in London, hosting gigs in Putney seven days a week. And that’s not all: we host regular comedy nights too, with previous alumni including Jack Whitehall and Harry Hill. You’ll never be bored, that’s for sure…
Boat Race 2026
If there’s one day a year we go all out for, it’s this one: Boat Race 2026 is just around the corner, and we’ve got BIG plans.
Join us for a massive afterparty as we soundtrack your day, with live music from iconic Half Moon faves and a DJ playing you into the early hours, plus lots of extra treats as we celebrate our reopening.
